Two male Tanzanian nationals, Robert Manumbu, aged 28, and Meshack Anthony Kalinga, 29, appeared before the Mahalapye Magistrate Court today (19/11/2025) on a single Count of Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs.

The duo’s court appearance follows their arrest on 17/11/2025 at Dibete Police Road Block, where they were found in possession of 69 suspected bundles of dagga weighing over 2000 kilograms. The accused were travelling in a VW panel van at the time of their arrest.

The accused have been remanded in Prison and are expected to reappear in Court on 11/12/2025, while investigations continue.

The multi-agency, Operation Pabalesego II, between the Botswana Police Service (BPS) and Botswana Defence Force (BDF), in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, will continue to intensify investigations and uncover cases of suspected illicit drugs and other crimes, with the aim of ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

Members of the public are encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station.
