Botswana Police Service takes part at the 15th Trans-Kalahari Corridor (TKC) Joint Law Enforcement Operation which was launched yesterday (10/07/2025) at the 44-Junction by Gantsi/Charleshill turn-off.

The event that brings together three countries of Botswana, South Africa and Namibia is aimed at reinforcing trade facilitation, transport safety and regional economic integration. This year’s theme is “Seamless Border, Seamless Trade- Securing the Trans-Kalahari Corridor for Enhanced Economic Growth.” The operation drew key government officials, community leaders, and regional stakeholders to boost the performance and security of the 1,900 kilometer trade artery that connects Walvis Bay in Namibia to Gauteng in South Africa via Botswana. It also serves as a critical infrastructure corridor for easy flow of goods and travel across Southern Africa.

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Honourable Noah Salakae who officially launched the operation, described the Corridor as a spine for economic transformation that extends its influence into industrialisation, clean energy initiatives and cultural tourism.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operation, Katlholo Mosimanegape led the police team at the event. The organisation has deployed about 335 police officers who are participating in the event through road blocks, public education, stop, question and search.
