BPS OBSERVES 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM CAMPAIN

The Botswana Police Service (BPS) joined the launch of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) at Mogoditshane today (25/11/2025), demonstrating their commitment to community safety and public awareness.
The event was officiated by the Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs, Hon. Lesego Chombo, who emphasised the need for collective responsibility in fighting GBV. She commended the BPS for its proactive role in educating the nation and strengthening community policing efforts.
Police officers from various BPS establishments set up information stalls in both villages, where they educated attendees about the different forms of Gender-Based Violence, how to identify early warning signs, and the importance of promptly reporting incidents.
The public also received safety tips, including guidance on personal security, emergency contacts, and ways to support victims within their communities.
The launch set a firm tone for the 16-Day Campaign held under the Theme “Unite To End Digital Violence Against All Women And Girls”, calling on all sectors of society to unite in creating safer homes, safer communities, and a safer Botswana.
Meanwhile, BPS also participated in a similar event in Ramotswa today (25/11/2025). The event, which is commemorated globally, was organised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and featured an intergenerational dialogue exploring the impact of cultural norms on GBV.
The campaign commenced today and will continue until the 10th of December 2025.
