A high-level consultative meeting on transnational organised crime involving Angola,Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe was recently held in Kasane, with Botswana hosting the two-day engagement.
The meeting, held at Mowana Lodge, Kasane, brought together senior law enforcement officials from the six neighbouring countries to strengthen cross-border collaboration in the fight against transnational organised crime in the region.
Discussions are focused on pressing regional threats, including cybercrime, livestock theft, vehicle theft, illegal mining and other forms of organised criminal activity that undermine economic stability and public safety.
The meeting was officially opened by the Minister for State President, Defence and Security, Honourable Moeti Caesar Mohwasa.
