The last batch of Special Constables to be formally absorbed into the Botswana Police Service (BPS) has reported at the Botswana Police College for a six-month intensive training programme, effective 30 March 2026.

This significant cohort marks the final phase in the integration process, bringing closure to the longstanding Special Constable cadre within the BPS.

During the training period, officers will undergo comprehensive instruction to equip them with the requisite skills, discipline, and professional standards expected of regular police officers.

Upon completion of the programme, the officers will be deployed back to their respective Police Stations across the country, fully integrated into the mainstream policing structure.

This milestone signals the end of an important chapter in the history of the Botswana Police Service, as the organisation continues to evolve and strengthen its operational capacity in line with modern policing demands.
