Botswana Police College today (24/03/2025) welcomed a delegation of eight officers from the Royal Eswatini Police Service for a four-day benchmarking exercise led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Bonginkhosi Dlamini.
In welcoming the delegation, the Director of Training, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dipontsho Pharithi, expressed her delight in hosting the delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini. She emphasised the strong historical ties between the two nations and their mutual commitment to regional collaboration, particularly in law enforcement, public safety and security.
The Director of Training encouraged the delegation to make the most of their visit, noting that this presented a valuable opportunity to gain knowledge and forge strong professional relationships with the Botswana Police Service (BPS). She also highlighted that the benchmarking exercise is a two-way learning process, as Botswana Police College would equally benefit from the experiences and insights shared by the Royal Eswatini Police Service. Senior Assistant Commissioner Pharithi stressed that effective policing relies on knowledge exchange and collaboration.
For his part, Assistant Commissioner Dlamini sincerely thanked BPS for allowing them to participate in this benchmarking exercise. He stated that the knowledge gained would be invaluable in helping them secure full accreditation and registration of their training programmes, as required by the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC).
In addition, he said that the exercise will cover various areas, including institutional governance and administration, basic recruit training programmes, supervisory and management courses, quality assurance, student affairs and curriculum design and development.
